The Rolla Economic Development Office is seeking veterinary partners to explore how to attract and support sustainable veterinary service in Rolla and Rolette County, a USDA-designated veterinary shortage area.
We are seeking a veterinarian, clinic, or veterinary business partner willing to discuss what type of service model could realistically work in our region. Options could include mobile food-animal service, mixed-animal practice, small-animal care, satellite clinic days, expansion of an existing North Dakota practice, or a phased rural practice startup.
Our goal is to identify a sustainable veterinary practice model and partner, then build a resource package around that model. This may include community support, demand documentation, facility options, grants, loan repayment resources, equipment needs, local partnerships, and business planning assistance.
To accomplish this goal, we are seeking input on what business model would be necessary for a successful long-term/sustainable practice. We want to understand what service mix, customer base, appointment volume, producer commitment, facility support, equipment, staffing, housing, or startup resources, etc., would make veterinary service serving the Rolla, North Dakota, and surrounding community financially viable and sustainable.
